Krugersdorp Congregation
Outreach Projects
By Barbara Corby
Members of the Gauteng (South Africa) churches
contributed clothing, toys and food for distribution to the needy in
Swaziland and all of the Gauteng church areas.

Some of these items were passed on
to Sparrow’s Nest Ministries, which started in a small house in
Roodepoort by Rev. Corine McClintock. It began with mothers bringing
babies with HIV/AIDS to her doorstep. Today Corine has had her dream
fulfilled by building the first village in South Africa for AIDS
orphans. The village will house both adults and children. This dream
was accompanied by a great deal of hard work, faith and prayer.

Rev. McClintock and her staff were very
appreciative of the blankets, clothing, toys and food given them. Two
members of the Krugersdorp church have decided to continue helping
Sparrows Nest Ministries as well as other organisations. Many
church members who helped in the above project found it rewarding
knowing that the adults and children would be warm during the coming
winter.
The
project for 2003 is Outbound Mission, an organisation which
distributes food and clothing as far as Lesotho, to all needy people,
both in churches and the underprivileged community.
