The Second Coming
| To the next statement: The Inheritance of Believers |
Jesus Christ, as he promised, will return to earth to judge and reign over
all nations in the kingdom of God. His second coming will be visible, and
in power and glory. This event inaugurates the resurrection and reward of
the saints.
(John 14:3; Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:30; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17;
Revelation 22:12)
John 14:3 - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Revelation 1:7 - Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
Matthew 24:30 - At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 - According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.
Revelation 22:12 - Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.
