Got
Problem?
People in general, all can cause us
pain and suffering. Whether good or bad, rich or poor, proud or humble
they all can cause us untold suffering, intentionally or
unintentionally.
Circumstances
beyond our control sometimes just suddenly happen and we get into trouble.
Try as hard as we might to avoid it, but sometimes events just do happen
without warning which can cause us much pain and suffering.
People and
circumstances will always be with us. They do affect us and sometimes
cause us much heartache. What is the best way to deal with this situation? How are we to respond when confronted with
difficult people and difficult circumstances?
Thankfully, God
has not left us helpless. Here is good advice:
"Dear
brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be
happy. For when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow.
So let it grow, and don't try to squirm out of your problems. For when
your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for
anything, strong in character, full and complete." (James 1:2-4, Living
New Testament)
As we face difficult people and difficult circumstances,
we are advised to be happy. Why? Because we are assured of something good
at the end of all these problems.
Developing patience,
becoming strong in character, becoming fully mature and spiritually complete
is what God wants us to become. He wants to see us grow just like his son
Jesus Christ. That is why
God allows us to go through
difficulties. But the end result is something great -- eternal life with
God forever!
"Blessed is the
man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he
will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love
him" (James 1:12, NIV).
What a great
future! And here's something more! In times of great difficulties, God
has not left us helpless:
"If you want to
know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for
He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask
Him; He will not resent it." (James 1:5, Living New Testament).
God
will be more than willing to help. He will show us how to solve our
problems if we let him. He
will not get angry because we asked for his help. He will not
resent it just like a true Father won't. We should go to him and ask for
his help.
Got problems? Be happy! God is molding us to become like his Son. We have
a bright future ahead of us -- eternal life with Him forever! --For
