YOUTHoughts - 13

ba mukhang ngayun lang nag-init ng ganito ang forum ah...shadowkhan

Comment: You're right Shadowkhan. Finally, we're getting it. This is really what I wanted to happen in our forum since we started it in the previous forum called "Youth Seeking Understanding." I wanted the youths to discuss issues in life: their thoughts, their feelings, their hurts, their apprehensions, questions in life and the like without fear of being looked down or ridiculed.

The discussions thus far is great. Feel free to open up. We will not reveal names. I don't know too unless you indicate your name. Reminder lang: be nice to everyone. No hitting below the belt. There will always be differing opinions. That's OK. We encourage everyone to speak out their minds.

Prov 27:17 - "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." (NIV)

Keep on posting!

Wow, "love your own" (from my friend's words)! hehehe. Sige, gawa ako ng testimony why I still love WCG: It is the only, unprecedented church in Christian History to have ever changed from a cult to an orthodox Christian church. Never pang nangyari yan sa kasaysayan nating mga Kristyano. We're the first! To be part of these changes, this monumental event in Christian History, for me, is a great honor. For the Lord has shown us great mercy and favor, and realized His power as Sovereign and Lord through us, our church. Imagine the depth of the Lord's joy, and the angels', as well as other Christians around the world, who understood and witnessed these changes. We are a testament that other denominations (cultic) who are going through the same mistakes we've been through shall someday rise from the darkness and glorify the Lord by their turning-around, back to Him. You see, we are a living proof that there is hope for others to receive the Lord's grace, not merely as individuals, but as a church. Yes, we're not perfect or near-to-'ideal' for some, but we're definitely on the right track! With all these in mind, it's hard to leave the church and think others are better. :D -- Veejay

hi peeps, glad to be back on the forum. musta na po kayong lhat? the church have change but i believe it changed for the better. friend, don't lose hope that the wcg people are crazy(i hope the does not offend anyone), we are imperfect beings, you, me, your friends, our parents. the church is a body of people that unitedly glorifies God, compose of different kinds of people, different backgrounds. may i just suggest, try to ask and search within yourself what you want, where you came from. the church may had helped or broke you in any other way, but its there for a purpose, for you, for me, for all of us. God bless friend..... -erin

at times, i too can't help but look at other congregations. i often feed on the words spoken at their pulpits. i admire how powerfully the Word of God is preached by their ministers. yes, i can also see the spirit in their membership. but i always see WCG as my mother church. God is sovereign. The transformation He has done to the WCG had shown us that He is perfectly in control and all these years He had shown us that He is faithful. He never left us, but remain to be the God of WCG.

To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage. Happy birthday, ga.. =)

yeah i know that there's no such thing as PERFECT in this world and niether is there a perfect church...but sometimes i can't help but look at other congregations and compare ours to them. And it seems like its much cooler and fun and most importantly they seem to have THE SPIRIT, I'm not saying that the church don't have it, all im saying is that it seems more stirred in there than in ours. It's sad but it's the truth and I guess that's something that the Church and we, its members should work on...--nrdgrl

Comment: Yes, I agree with you nrdgrl. We, the members of the church need to work on or rather, allow Jesus to work on each one of us so that our church may have the Spirit of the Lord evident in our church. Instead of leaving the church and joining another, we can surely help build our local church. Check out this link, http://www.wcg.org/lit/church/ministry/idealchurch.htm. It's a good one on "The Quest for the Ideal Church."

For me, the WCG is my family. Jesus alone saves, not the church by the name of WCG nor any other church. But God has placed me in this WCG family. I cannot just abandon and disown this family to join another family (church) just like what others had done. Yes, it's got lots of things to work on, but it will still be my family -- "warts and all." And so I do my part, to help in whatever way for the sake of the WCG, the family I've known since I was a teenager. It is unthinkable for me to think of going to another family especially now that this church has been transformed by truth.

sir just want to react..sana d dapat gnamit na word ung crazy kac its a sin..calling somebody a crazy is a sin..calling crazy to ur fellow is a sin..God bless everyone..dgp

Hoi LJ, eforgive mo na 'yan... It might not necessarily mean that you forget what she did, but you can start with forgiveness...-drake

LJ, Si ej 'to. I'm really, really, really sorry for the things i did the past couple of months Hopelessly asking for your Forgiveness and Understanding... I know that in my present condition I have no chance of you forgiving me but I'm still hoping until that day comes...even if it takes a lifetime I know the things I did was not right, I accept that, pero tao din naman ako di ba?...and I can make mistakes, hurt others, and maybe sometimes hurt you but I can try to change all that I have done if you can help me do that. I can put back the pieces of what I have torn apart but that is not possible if you can't forgive me. I'm really, really, really sorry!!!

those people who understand the changes are the blessed ones...those who are confuced, are the "crazy ones.." dgp

Comment: May I just remind everyone that the very reason why we started Youthoughts is for us to be able to reach out and understand other fellow youths. We want to reach out to them and share to them the good news. That is, if they haven't heard it yet. We want to spread love and understanding, friendship and a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Name calling doesn't help. We want the youths to speak out their minds here -- express their thoughts, their hurts, their feelings, how they were offended by the changes, etc. Let us therefore exercise a little bit more love and understanding. Let us not react negatively right away. Let's allow them to express their feelings.

Youthoughts is a youth forum especially created for people like thomasmore and others who wants to be heard, loved and understood.

Thanks for sharing dgp. I also appreciate your openness to express your feelings and how you really love the church. Thanks for your love for the church and for what it stands for. It is much appreciated. --From your webpastor and friend.

continuation..like eating pork..before we are not allowed to eat because eating pork its a sin..where is the sin, eating the pork or spitting bad words in ur mouth?think frend...dgp

i just want to tell you that those people who are confused about the changes n the church are the crazy ones..how will u say this..before we tend to shout that we are the only church to be saved? we hit other church, confronting that they teach the wrong doctrines? going to church on saturday its because the day of rest..we just go to church because its saturday. its not God anymore we served..its the day...you know what i grew up in this church since in my mom's womb..i am a christian since birth..yah ask urself.ok?

To LJ, are you attending SEP in Camiguin Island? Someone is asking.

I LIKE THIS: "Be patient with me, God isn't finished with me yet." :D -andoi-

i'm not active in church-going anymore because i just dont feel the warmt anymore but still i respect the church and recognize the fact that i get to know Christ thru the Church. Im like a drifter right now but I know I'll return someday, maybe not. Still i dont think "crazy" is the right word to discribe the whole thing...a lil softer word is needed-nrdgrl

Comment: Ask not what the church can do for you. Rather, ask what you can do for the church. Some would say that the church is like a "hospital for sinners" -- a place for the sick, those who are a bit crazy, the weird kind, the cold-hearted, you name it, we probably have it in the church. You won't always find nice, warm and perfect people in it.

We must not expect too much perfection from church members. Rather, Jesus expects each one of us to join the church to give help, support, encouragement, warmth and love to those who are in it. Besides, we are all sinners -- spiritually sick -- and so we need the church too. There is no reason to delay going back to church. One more church member coming back will surely bring back some of the warmth it lost when you left. We are eagerly waiting for you to come back. --webpastor

*jaw drops and flops on the floor* Mag-abugasya ka na Karu, dali!! I love your answer! *cheers* -- Veejay

hi thomasmore, im kinda depressed when u posted that church members of today are a bit crazy. i grew up in the church and i have a lot of friends whom i am proud of. they are the friends who have helped me in so many ways...seeing them and being with them always remind me to be good when everyone else in the world are the total opposite. some way, my family and my extended family(the church) have kept my beliefs intact.

it's sad that you find some of the members to be "crazy". i am begging to revert your opinion. pls never associate personal ecentricities with the identity of the church in general. if you think that way, it's like saying that a city is inherently bad because of the presence of criminals.. does it ever occur to you that the whole should never be equated with the sum of the parts? because the whole has a lot more than what the summed parts really is.

i may not understand the reason why you feel that way and i thank you for having the courage to express your opinion because it is a good thought to ponder upon. i hope in some future time, we all could have a chance to meet so that one day, you'll appreciate that there are really people in the church who take their beliefs seriously. have a nice day! =) -your friend, karu

AndrU, anong no. ba? Sa lotto?

tama po kayo dr. ewe. some of our church people miss the "unity" in the church during those years. wat they can't understand is that they mistake unity with uniformity. our unity is in Christ and not in norms and behavior.-myra po

On the "crazy" church people issue: I think the membership(church in general)was more organized back then ( i hope ur referring to the years before the changes) because most of the people shared the same beliefs. We had a clear and common perspective in who we were and what we believed in. In short, the members found an identity in the church. Through the grace of God we learned that we should not only identify with the Church but more importantly with God-Jesus Christ.Nowadays, the problem is many members are still a looking for something or someone to identify with. Unless we all find our identity with Christ, we could not have some harmony or unity in the Church.-Dr. Ewe

Hello der, sino ba yong namimigay ng no. sa forum? Pakilala ka nman...-AndrÜ

a christian sister gave advise to my husband's officemate whom he invited to come to her church: "when you come, just focus on Jesus, not on the people." One poster I read in a jeepney says: Be patient with me, God isn't finished with me yet." Church members aren't perfect yet. That's why if we focus on people, for sure we will always have disappointments and frustrations. Focusing on God will spell the difference. By His love, we can understand people, be tolerant and forgiving, even bless and love our "enemies." But church members are not our enemies. they are our brethren. i will pray for you thomasmore just as i pray for the rest of our church members as well.-myra

hi thomasmore. i too was a former WCG youth, but now i'm their "tita" already. like you i had my disappointments as well tho of different reasons. even now there are still moments of frustrations. however, God comforts and He gives peace. He sponges the disppointments and frustrations with His amazing love and let that love overflow that it reaches towards people around us as well. That love enables us to see beyond people. It brings us to see the perfect one, God Himself. -myra (naridos4@yahoo.com)

i was a former WCG youth group, i'm just disappointed on what happen to the church. What happen there? the people are just kinda bit crazy(sorry for the word but its just my feeling or emotion inside the church) people are so weird now this days. Like there's no control over church member email me at thomasmore_t2s@yahoo.com

Comment: Hello thomasmore, I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the church. Yes, feelings/emotions can sometimes take over and we are not able to understand why church members nowadays are a bit crazy. Time heals. And when you're ready, you can study and understand why and what it means to have freedom in Jesus Christ (Galatians 5:1). We have a lot of articles on this website to help you in your Christian journey.
