bout SEP Vis-Min, I think its nice kung magkabonding na pud ang mga youth from vis and min. the last vis-min camp was 2001, 5 yrs ago and ang mga campers dat tym mga staff na karon.its d nxt generations turn na pud para magila-ila sa mga fellow youth nila from other areas. SEP campers and staff wat do u think? :)

i agree to pastor Len bout the burnouts and financial drained that were facing now in our local church,we have to give our leaders and pastors a break.God is a merciful and loving one, God still gives Hes Children a break.and I believe He has a plan to the coming of year. Here in CDO,i can see that our church here is facing the financial drain.. negative ang aming financial aspect ngaun. our budget is summing up negative over our money we have..kahit manok,d bibili para ma saved lang ang money..lets help, God still has His plan..--Guy

about sa sep thingy mura man jud kung mawala xa murag ang highlight event sa summer para sa mag youth kay murag mawala and diba every youth is looking forward to join the camp.y not na lang have a consensus from the youth sa mindanao and pastors kng wat man ila think about it and unfortunately ang uban dili nila ma say ang ilang mga thoughts because lack of some resources sa ilang area(e.g internet cafe)..through the local pastor na lng iingon and ang pastor na daun ang mag ask sa youth sa ilang area..im just suggesting that method pra ang tanan pud naay say about ana na thing sa SeP..

don't worry guys if walang sep this year. God has greater plans for us here in MIndanao kaya kahit wala na ang sep,i'm sure na meron siyang ipapagawa na mas greater pa. and we will reach hundres of youth in mindanao. we just have to look at the brighter side of it. there's a lot of things to do.. kaya lets start it. we will later on that we have harvest many souls..God Bless.. enjoy ur Cristmas vacation?

Please include in your prayers Ms. Rachel Reyes and her family in Bicol. She was a 3G camper on SEP Mindanao 2003 in Malaybalay, Bukidnon. They lost their home during the Reming storm as well as their things. They're currently staying at the house of a church member's relative in Bicol right now. --Anonymous

Comment: Hi Ian. I still need to consult Pastor Jeng and others about this. It's still under study. If Pastor Jeng says CDO is ready to host SEP 2007, then we're ready to go. 

During the year 2005, we in Mindanao were host to the Visayas-Mindanao Women's Conference. We were also at the same time host to the Visayas-Mindanao Singles Conference. And then we also had our Mindanao-wide SEP. All these happened during the summer of 2005.

The result was very successful but it also drained all of us financially and it also drained our pastor's and leader's energies and some of them experienced burnout. That is why I decided that we will have less major activities this year (2006) to allow our leaders and local churches to have some time to rest and recover. 

In Mindanao, most of our major activities are self-supported and self-funded by our local churches (manpower and resources) except for SEP where we get some partial financial help from the John Whitney Foundation through our national office. But still the bulk of the funds come from tuition fees or registration fees and help from the local churches. And also through fund raising efforts.  

Anyway, we had 3 Joshua Generation conferences especially for the youths this year in Mindanao and it was all successful. We also had one successful youth retreat this year in Iligan City. We will have more next year. 

Next year, another Women's Conference is planned this April 2007 in Bohol. Are we going to have a Mindanao-wide SEP again? How about a localized or regionalized 2 or 3-day youth retreat about 3 or 4 times next year instead of one Mindanao-wide SEP? Which one will produce more fruits in term of bringing more youths/people to the Lord? Which one do you think is better?

Dear God, I was reminded today of the many people who feel lonely during this season of the year, through the holidays and the time we celebrate the birth of Christ. Many are missing their loved ones who have passed on or who live far away. Some are suffering with illness or a loved one in the hospital. Life as it was is just turned upside down. Some feel a "let down" because their expectations or view of the season is greater than their emotional experience. Some people are actually alone. Whatever the reason they are feeling lonely, they need an encouraging touch. God, please work in their lives and spirits to bring joy. I pray that someone or something will come along to touch them in a special way and lift them from that lonely place. I pray for uplifting friends, neighbors, coworkers... I pray for special needs to be met. I pray that they will feel Your presence. I also pray that You will be glorified through it all. In the name of Jesus I pray and thank You. Amen.

my friend, Mrs. Judith Tanyao had undergone biopsy 2 weeks ago. the result just came out yesterday, she was diagnosed Stage 1 Endometrial Adenocarcinoma. She'll be going to St. Luke's Medical Center for a second opinion. Let's pray that God will give her strength to overcome her situation.

Friends, posting to you a message on a relief campaign for victims of typhoon Reming.

Dear All,

The country is declared to be under a State of National Calamity. This is due to the ravages brought by Super Typhoon Reming in most parts of our country. The Bicol region is one of the most devastated.

As of December 4, 2006, more than a hundred dead bodies were buried in a mass grave in Legazpi City. The Philippine National Red Cross believes that death toll may reach more than a thousand. Records of the Office of Civil Defense show that 201,927 families or 832,549 individuals were affected. Of this figure, about 16,710 individuals had to be sheltered in evacuation centers. A big part of the region suffers blackout and is most likely to spend Christmas in total darkness.

The Ayala Young Leaders Alliance (AYLA) has begun to collaborate with Ayala Foundation, Ateneo's Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, Ayala companies, schools, organizations and institutions in launching a relief campaign to aid the victims of the super typhoon. We are one to encourage you to take part in this relief operation and be a channel to urge as many people to help.

Matthew 5:48 it says, but you are to be perfect,even as your Father in heaven is perfect. Sir Len can u further discuss the verse, that we all know we cant be perfect at all because of sin, but because the one Who created us is PERFECT AND JUST We should to be perfect..guy

Comment: You are right Guy. We do sin always and therefore mahirap maging perfect. Pero sige lang, maningkamot gihapon ta nga mahimong "perfect" kay mao may sugo sa Matthew 5:48. The verse actually means become spiritually mature, become spiritually complete (perfect). We cannot remain immature -- whether emotionally, socially, mentally and in every way. 

We should progress toward maturity in all aspects of our life. As Christians we are told to be growing in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). --Kuya Len

The Apostle Paul is saying here that he worked hard so that he could help the weak -- those who are poor and needy. This is the context when he quoted Jesus as saying, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." We are more blessed when we give (working hard so that we have something to give to others) than when we receive something. Jesus said so according to Paul.

It is a sin to tell a lie. Christians are encouraged (commanded) to be honest, to have integrity, to have a "word of honor," mapagkakatiwalaan, trustworthy. Telling lies cause heartaches and sufferings. People normally don't like liars di ba? Gusto natin tapat.

Gikasab.an q niya kay kulang daw ako details even though complete gyud xa. . after a few moments nangasaba xa sa amoh as usual ang amo daw na course Tachnology Communication Management ang pinakasabaan sa tanan course sa MPSC. . .Then all of the sudden i uttered loudly "How can we be called communicators if we dont even speak, we know wat is ryt or wrong so dont judge us" i thuoght she did not hear me. . .supposedly i was the one to blame my clasm8 was the one my teacher suspected . . I did not tell anyone except for my closest friend. . .Ive been bothered what shall I do about it?

Comment: Hi Maybelle, you really feel bad because in your anger, you "uttered loudly" some negative remarks to your teacher in response to her negative remarks. Also, you really feel bad because your classmate is being blamed/suspected by your teacher as the one who did it although you know it was you who "uttered loudly."

What has your conscience told you based on Jesus' teachings? I think you need to do that so you will have peace of mind. We can talk more about this when we meet this weekend. Take care now. --Kuya Len

funny man mo ni chling-chling oi!:) na-experience nako sa una ang iyong na-experience karon.<smiles> u know, one of my testimonies on how i came to know God and his love, lies on my experience about a friend and our friendship.:) i was so possessive to her na as much as possible dli ko ganahan naa ma-close lain sa iya, if naa man, magselos daun ko...(ing-ana ko kakataw-anan sa una, jes.)...mao to reason why nag-away mi sako friend sa una og wala mi ngstorya for almost two years. pero i was (and is) really grateful kay gipa-experience ko ni God ato.:) why? because i'd realized how powerful God is and how JEALOUS He is.:) gpa-realize Nya sa ako na there is no other friend who will love you the way Jesus had loved and loves you.:)and there is no better friendship, sweeter and more wonderful than your friendship with Jesus.:)if you build an intimate friendship with Him first, dghan na daun moabot na blessings. later will you know na mas ningdaghan na daun imo friends...true friends.<smiles> about my definition on friendship? friendship is not subjecting yourself to only one person. it's subjecting your love to many people because you want them to experience what you have experienced with your friendship in Jesus.<smiles>

naa lang ko comment,y is it na kung naay christian nga mokanta ug wordly mura man ug mandire ang christian pud?unsa ba diay?nakita nku one time nag attend ko ug assort of celebration ( dont want to mention what celebration a church celebration,then after sa pagkaon, naay fellowshipping naanad na cguro mag singalong,nag kanta na weve only just began,happily singing,then naa na ni comment,manlakaw nata?what suppose the meaning of that? and what suppose the meaning of the people who walked out?christian sila pero,is that the christian a christian way? kay ngano diay ang pagka kristiyano makita lang bah sa pagkanta ug christian songs?kay tungod bah nikanta ug wordly as in mandire nata? para sa akoa be it, whats the problem wid that,for as long as that song is not a dirty one..

i have a new friends here in CDO,a group of young people. They attended every friday's BS here in cugman..and i found out that this young people have talent in music,so they came here in our main church in Cagayan,and i let them play, they know a little bit of christian alternatives, so they play and after playing some christian songs, they play some trend songs as what we hear today,then i remember what happen to that activity,that church activity, so whats the problem with that?is there a big deal wid playing trend songs?its only a katuwaan,jamming,katawa,fun..and imagining, what if this guys are on the bars,underground areas smoking marijuana,barkada nga wla klaro?,and compare it there playing

happily,fun,tawanan,jamming wid them,playing wid some musical instruments..guess we have to shift with our own paradigm not to just go with judgement, naa pay pangutana "na katong nagkanta elder to ninyo"? mao na hinuon nag-unauna..guy

Comment: Ahem... Guy, relax lang. That's the Christian life. Sometimes we get to be judged by others whether we do good or bad. And sometimes, we (Christians) also commit the sin of judging others. Let's just continue to love others, be considerate of others and be forgiving of other's faults and weaknesses knowing that we (Christians) do have our own faults and weaknesses too. Ayos lang. Let's continue jamming!
