The following chart illustrates the development of the Saturday Sabbatarian churches, especially the Worldwide Church of God, tracing its history back to British Separatists. As the timeline of the chart moves forward, names and leaders of offshoot and splinter groups are listed.
Several Sabbatarian denominations have attempted to trace the history of Sabbatarianism through the Waldensians of Western Europe. It has been claimed that the Waldensians were Saturday Sabbath-keepers. The purpose was to show an unbroken line of Sabbath-keeping churches from apostolic time to the present. However, the Waldensians never kept the Saturday Sabbath, as can be verified by calling the American Waldensian Society.
