UTICA, New York--Utica teens were host to the fifth annual lock-in Jan. 15 and 16.
The teens planned the event and kept costs at a minimum for guests as they have an ongoing fund-raiser collecting cans and bottles, which have a five-cent deposit in New York.
The weekend began with a youth worship service led by Kelli Irey with 50 young people from Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Long Island, Plattsburgh and Utica, New York, and Providence, Rhode Island.
The Utica youths performed a play called "A Tale of Three Trees" about how God will always help you reach your goals in life, but not always in the way you would expect. This was followed by a tape by Frank Peretti titled "Wounded Hearts."
Saturday evening was filled with volleyball, basketball, board games and a dance. Sunday began with breakfast, followed by fellowship, swimming and more time in the gym. Peggy Kirk.
