Women young and old from any denomination are invited to the 2000 Women's International Conference: In the Master's Hands, May 19 to 21, in Costa Mesa, California.
The theme scripture says, "You, Lord, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands" (Psalm 16:5, Good News Bible). The event will take place at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel. Check-in will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, and early-bird workshops will be offered at 3:30. The conference will officially begin at 6:30.
The evening's guest speaker is Fay Angus, author of 12 books, who will share the story of her years in a Japanese internment camp. Music will be provided by the San Diego North County women. A dessert social will conclude the evening.
Guest speaker Saturday morning will be Kathleen Hart, chaplain to student wives at Fuller Theological Seminary.
After the morning's general session, a repeat of the workshops will be offered. This year's workshops include teaching on how to experience God to the fullest; having self-discipline; how to let God mold your time; God, women and chocolate; how to find more time with God; and how to be in God's will even when you are afraid. After the workshops, small group discussions will be available on various topics.
For Saturday's lunch the women will be on their own. Across the street from the hotel is South Coast Plaza, one of the nation's premiere shopping malls, with more than 30 restaurants. Saturday afternoon is also free, however, an optional Bible study will be offered.
Saturday evening, the musical guests will be Between the Lines. Keynote speakers will be Michael and Pam Rozelle of Potter's Field Ministry. Michael's ability to communicate visually with clay, combined with Pam's musical gifts, create a living parable further illustrated by humorous stories and poignant vignettes. The ancient truths of the Bible are brought to life, making our relationship with the Master Potter a tangible reality.
Guest speaker Sunday morning will be Tammy Tkach. Music will be provided by the Oasis Praise Band. The conference will conclude with a communion service and end at 12:30 Sunday afternoon.
Registration is $70 (before March 24, $90 after) and includes the dessert social, two continental breakfasts and Saturday's dinner.
