Youth service
begins in
Johannesburg,
South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa--Sixty-two teens, including some from outside the WCG, attended the first of a planned monthly youth service in Johannesburg, Jan. 30, according to Art Holladay, national youth director.

"We had our fledgling praise band made up completely of young people (complete with keyboard, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals) leading the worship," Mr. Holladay said. "Then I gave a sermon and led a discussion on not being ignorant of Satan's devices and the victory over the devil that Christ offers."

In a normal week, five to 20 teens attend in Johannesburg, where the average attendance is about 90.

"The spirit among the young people was wonderful, and I see God doing great things in their lives. I also see this new youth service as an exciting tool to that end. Thank God for the wonderful work he is accomplishing among our teens!"
