Shannon Davidson
earns Girl Scout
Silver AwardMERIDIAN, IdahoShannon Nicole Davidson, 14, a member of the Boise, Idaho, church, achieved the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn, the second highest award available in Girl Scouting.
To earn her Silver Award, Shannon spent two years completing requirements in five major areas. Recipients must spend at least 25 hours in a leadership capacity and complete three Interest Project badges to develop new skills. Exploring careers and completing community service projects are also required.
Shannon is a member of Troop 479 of Silver Sage Council. To earn her Silver Award, Shannon designed and carried out a summer weekly reading program at a day care center. Her goal was to show young children that reading is fun.
Shannon is a freshman at Meridian High School. She has also earned the Cadette Leadership Award and Cadette Challenge Pin. Dennise Davidson.
