WORLDWIDE CHURCH OF GOD PRESENTS PASADENA WITH PLAN TO MOVE FORWARD WITH DEVELOPMENT OF AMBASSADOR CAMPUS

PASADENA—Worldwide Church of God officials today submitted a proposal to the City of Pasadena calling for the resumption of efforts to develop the 48-acre Ambassador campus site.

The church will build upon the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) that was created for the project before Legacy left the project team. The project description envisions an entirely residential project.

"When Legacy stepped away from the proposal, the church decided to take an active role in development of its landmark property, which will continue to seek preservation of the Ambassador Auditorium through a proposed Community Facilities District and preservation of the historic structures and gardens," said Bernard Schnippert, director of Finance & Planning at the church. "We look forward to a constructive dialogue with residents and city officials to assure the best project for everybody, once we have selected a master development consultant and architect."

The public process of review and approval of the development plan will reopen. The church intends to make the best use of the campus it built largely in the 1950s and 1960s just west of the 710 Freeway and south of Old Pasadena.
