Pastor General appoints
Eugene Guzon,
national director
for PhilippinesThe 40th anniversary celebration of the church in the Philippines is a testimony of the grace and the faithfulness of God in leading the Philippine church toward growth and maturity. It has also been shown in God raising a crop of servant-leaders to minister to Filipino members and their ability to reach out and care for more people with the gospel of Christ. Because of that, we also looked toward that time when the Philippine church would be led by a Filipino.
It is my pleasure to announce Eugene Guzon as national director. Mr. Guzon has served in different roles in the past, and God has equipped him for this kind of responsibility. Bill Sidney, regional director, and I have known him for many years and we have confidence in his ability to serve the Philippine members in this capacity.
Mr. Sidney will focus on providing mentorship to Mr. Guzon, and will also focus on how to reach out to other countries in Northeast Asia. He is also free to visit the congregations from time to time when they invite him.
I ask the Filipino ministry, pastoral teams and the members to give their support to and prayers for the Guzon and Sidney families as they fulfill their new responsibilities. I am excited to be a part of this milestone during their anniversary. Joseph Tkach, Pastor General.
