Summer festival

I want to thank Pastor General Joseph Tkach and all of the headquarters staff who came to support and enrich the summer festival "Life in the Son" in Atlanta.

The workshops and worship and fellowship opportunities provided much-needed confirmation for what the Holy Spirit has been convicting my wife, Esther, and me to be rededicated to: the final command and being his witnesses to our neighbors.

We live in a mixed income housing development that used to be a public housing development nicknamed Little Vietnam. We serve in a ministry called Strategic Neighbors there, and we were blessed to be able to bring one of our teenage neighbors to the summer festival. She enjoyed it so much (especially the worship concert) that she is wanting to get involved in church with the strong youth group in the Atlanta West congregation.

I am encouraged when the plain gospel is preached in almost every worship opportunity, and only regret that we did not bring more people we know who need Christ.

I am sure many others felt the same way—wishing they had focused more on bringing one or more neighbors.
