De Soto, Missouri, children
finish 'God and Me' workbook
DE SOTO, Missouri—Six children received certificates and medals during an award ceremony in their honor Aug. 30.
After several months of church classes, homework and assignments, Keith and Kevin Ehlen, Reid Mitchell, David and Hanna Surface and Mitchell Temming completed their “God and Me” student workbook, which earned them these honors. In a special service dedicated to the children, Pastor Bob Ehlen shared something out of each child’s workbook and presented them their awards.
Programs of Religious Activities With Youth (P.R.A.Y.) offers four levels of workbooks in their God and Country series. Each book is designed with a goal in mind for children in that level. “God and Me” (grades 1-3) helps children become best friends with Jesus. “God and Family” (grades 4-5) helps children know God’s love and his plan for their families. “God and Church” (grades 6-8) takes the youths on a faith journey to grow closer to Christ and in service in the church. “God and Life” (grades 9-12) guides young people to reflect on their faith and calling and how these affect their future.
Debbie Hazelwood at the P.R.A.Y. office in St. Louis, Missouri, said that “the God and Country series is an opportunity for families to connect, and for parents and adults to share their faith with their children. It also helps children grow in their faith and put their faith into action.” Susie Ehlen.
