To all the wonderful people

The WN received the following letter from Tracey Granno after we published an article in the August issue about the death of her daughter, Tara, and Shawn Wargnier in an automobile accident.

There are no words or anything I can do to let you all know how very much I have appreciated receiving all the thoughtful, loving cards and gifts from all over the United States.

Tara Granno

It is so nice, just knowing there are caring people still out there, many of whom do not even know me or ever had the chance to meet my special daughter, Tara.

There is nothing harder in this world I could ever go through.

The outpouring of cards and letters made me cry, made me really think, and even made me smile. I wish I could thank you all personally, but this is my way of reaching you all.

Tara was my only child, my pride and joy from day one. She wasn’t just beautiful on the outside. Her personality was outstanding, funny, caring, loving, happy. She was known for always having a smile. When she walked into a room, it lit up like you have never seen. That is my Tara. She always aimed to please and strived for the best in life.

Shawn and Tara were very much in love. I could not have picked a better person for her myself. Shawn was like the son I never had. I loved him very much too. I miss them both so very, very much.

Now in her room sits a special basket filled with all the cards and letters. I wanted all the love to be with her forever and always.

A very special thank you to each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart.

Tom Torrance

I received your [John McKenna’s] kind letter along with the copy of The Worldwide News that contained an account of your visit to Edinburgh in June to see my father [“A Visit With Tom Torrance: Master Theologian,” August WN]. It is a beautifully written and moving piece, and has been greatly appreciated by the family members who have so far seen it. Thank you very much for your understanding and prayers.
