PASADENA—The sale of two peripheral parcels of land concluded July 31. The first is a parcel of about 1.5 acres south of Del Mar Boulevard that includes the tennis courts and adjacent former classroom building. The second is about four-tenths of an acre on Dayton Street that served as a parking lot for the former transportation facility. These land parcels are not part of campus entitlement plan.
Broker selected
The Dickson-Podley company, a highly respected Pasadena real estate firm, has been selected to sell five historic homes on South Orange Grove Boulevard. The homes, built between 1892 and 1911, are not part of the entitlement plan for the Ambassador campus.
The church has used these homes as student residences and single family homes over the years, and has always taken great care to preserve them. The church has asked the City of Pasadena to create a historic district to help ensure that the homes are maintained as historic single family homes in the future.
Leadership change
Shea Homes, chosen by the church to lead the entitlement process for the Ambassador campus, promoted Bob Yoder, entitlement team leader, to a new position as president of Shea Homes-Inland Empire, which encompasses Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
Taking the helm of the Ambassador campus entitlement team will be Alan Toffoli, senior vice president within the Shea organization and a nine-year Shea Homes veteran specializing in land acquisition and entitlements.
Bernie Schnippert, church treasurer, said: “In the past year, Bob’s leadership has helped create a beautiful design for the Ambassador campus and I thank him for his fine work.”
John Shea of J.F. Shea Co. said: “As our premiere smart growth and transit-oriented community, the Ambassador campus is one of the most exciting neighborhoods Shea Homes is developing. As a 37-year neighbor to the Ambassador campus, I have placed the most talented people in our company at the helm of this plan from the inception.”
Mr. Yoder said: “I am very proud of our work at the Ambassador campus. Our team has designed a community that people will be proud to live in for generations. Alan Toffoli has been involved with this property from the very beginning and he is a perfect fit to carry this community to completion.”
