Festival assistance

By Mark McCulley
Festival Administration manager

The church has decentralized financial assistance for attending the Festival in the United States. In the past, headquarters collected donations to help the needy attend a regional site. Now we encourage members to assist others directly with Festival expenses.

You may want to help someone in your congregation who could not otherwise afford to go. Giving directly to another person can strengthen the bond of Christian love. You could pay another person's Festival fund donation, provide travel expenses or adopt someone into your family for the Festival week. At the Festival you could buy meals or social activity tickets for others.

As with other cash gifts, you may want to talk to your pastor first. It is sad to say, but some people take advantage of the kindhearted generosity of members.

Opportunities for one congregation to help another congregation will be announced. Paul instructs us in Galatians 6:10 to do good to all, "especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
