The Christianity Today article "From Fringe to the Fold" that was reprinted in the Aug. 27 Worldwide News is my reason for writing.
First I do not take issue with what was said, although I do look at it as bashing Mr. Armstrong a little. My reason for looking at it this way is because it says nothing positive about Mr. Armstrong's work in the church.
It was written by someone outside our membership and put in our church newspaper. I'd prefer to see articles in our newspaper that are written by church members.

We appreciate the several comments we received about Ruth Tucker's article. Dr. Tucker is a friend of our church. Her original audience was the readership of Christianity Today, not necessarily members of the Worldwide Church of God.
The article was not about Mr. Armstrong, but, rather, it was addressing the unprecedented changes from error. She was celebrating such a unique occurrence in Christian history. We are sorry that some were not pleased with her article.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciated the article on PTM, in the Aug. 27 Worldwide News.
While I, like others in the Worldwide Church of God, found the changes unsettling initially, it's quite clear that we are going in a healthy spiritual direction, and particularly as I come from a country (Ireland), which has been beset by sectarian problems of Christians at odds with other Christians, the brave path we are treading with Christ's guidance is to be commended.
What I like about PTM is that it aims to treat all believers as part of the body of Christ and doesn't highlight one church above another. This can only serve to bring about unity in the long run, and cause us to be more tolerant of difference and see above our differences.

My family has an environmental illness, multi-chemical sensitivity. My husband and I both have chronic fatigue syndrome. These two together, with young children, make it hard to go to church or anywhere else for that matter.
What I am getting at is that there should be more unity such as the service that was conducted in New York for the member with environmental illness (July 23 Worldwide News).
It is hard to get people to understand, when you look healthy, but are really sicker than anyone could ever think of being. I am tired of this seven-year fight. Just because we look healthy does not make us that way.
I ask if there is some way to show people that environmental illnesses are real, not someone just faking it?

I want to thank Mr. Tkach for the wonderful work he is doing for the Lord.
I am learning more and more every day because I pray and ask God for help, and I get it.
I know that I have to go to the Son to get to God because God gave his Son to take away our sins.
I have been a member of the Worldwide Church of God for about eight years.
I love the changes the church has made because I think that we honor the Lord by the way we live. In spite of our sins, in spite of our failures, God loves us. Prayer is a big part of my life. In fact prayer is my life.
I thank God for leading me in the right way. He is guiding me day by day and leading me to the kingdom. I thank him for teaching me to love and understand.

I read the Aug. 27 issue and was thrilled with the tremendous work that Jesus Christ is doing through our church.
I especially enjoyed "Window on the World" by Randal Dick. It was revealed in that article what a tremendous difference can be made in the lives of others by simply believing and acting on the message of Jesus Christ.
