1997 Festival cruise to Caribbean

Many members will recall the 1994 Festival cruise to Alaska on Holland America Line's elegant Rotterdam. At the 1997 Festival church members will have the opportunity to cruise with Holland America once more, this time aboard the new MS Ryndam.

The 10-day cruise will be to seven Caribbean islands: St. Maarten; Castries and Soufriere, St. Lucia; Bridgetown, Barbados; Guadeloupe; St. Thomas and St. John, U.S., Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas. Please note: this potential cruise does not negate any other site. Festival sites are also planned on various islands in the Caribbean region in 1997. Members will be able to transfer from outside the region to those sites in order to worship and fellowship with the brethren on the islands.

Rather than a charter, this is a group cruise. The size of the Festival group depends entirely on the response, but if we have a firm commitment from at least 150 passengers, we plan to go ahead. At that point, deposits will be required to secure the space.

Celebrating the Festival aboard the Ryndam should be a relaxing experience where fellowship with church brethren can be mixed with letting your Christian light shine to other passengers and the crew members. Friendships made in these situations can last a lifetime.

Ports, itinerary and prices follow. If you are interested in this cruise and feel certain about attending the 1997 Festival on board the Ryndam, please respond by Nov. 1. Send your name, address and phone number, and the number of adults and children (with their ages) to Festival Administration, Attn: Cruise, 300 W. Green St., Pasadena, California, 91129.

Cruise-only fares, per person

Rates range from $4,614 double occupancy for a penthouse with a veranda to $1,099 for an inside double room. These fares are 50 percent off the listed rates for the same cruise as listed in Holland America's 1996-1997 cruise brochure. That level of discount is not normally available. The church is being offered an exceptional opportunity for those who are able to take advantage of it.

Additional costs are third or fourth person: $785; infant under age 2, $250; port charges and taxes, $145; deposit requirements, $400; administrative fee, $100; cancellation protection plan, $99.

Single Partners Program: We will match other single members wishing to share accommodations, resulting in double occupancy pricing for both passengers.

Fares are in U.S. dollars and based on sharing accommodations with two full-fare guests. Air rates are available.
