Philippine churches add Sunday services

By Gil Llaneza

In December 1995 the Manila church added a Sunday service.

This was initiated by member Alfredo Cacanando, an electrical services contractor with more than 400 employees. His company, AC Technical Services, pays half of the hall rental, and the Manila congregation pays the other half.

This once a month service turned twice a month in March 1996. Average attendance is 150. About 15 are from the Manila WCG congregation.

The Manila church also started a youth church June 22, which meets twice a month on Sundays.

The Davao City church, pastored by Rick Deligero, has Sunday worship services in addition to meeting on Saturday. The average attendance is 40, including the pastor's landlady who became a WCG member when the Sunday service was added.

The Cavite church, pastored by Vic Lim, also planned to add a Sunday worship service in June.
