CHICAGO--Tammy Tkach was the featured speaker at a women's ministry meeting for more than 200 Chicago area women March 1. The afternoon began with a worship session led by Karen Newby, pastor's wife of the Chicago Northwest and Joliet churches.
Mrs. Tkach asked the question, "Do you know who you are?" She stressed that women's identity should be in Christ and encouraged the women by emphasizing God's love for them and that Christ put them here for a purpose. She pointed out that these are exciting times for women in the church--there is so much potential in all women to do a good work.
Before Mrs. Tkach's presentation, Eva Larkin, a human resource generalist and women's ministry coordinator for the Chicago North church, spoke.
Mrs. Larkin challenged the women to discover their gifts and to use them to nurture and support one another by ministering--serving one another. She said that each woman can make a difference.
