Getting ready for a harvest in Bolivia

By Michael Medina

COCHABAMBA, Bolivia--April 24 to 28 were eventful days for the WCG in Bolivia.

I was interviewed by an evangelical radio station in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, April 24.

The daily program, "One in Christ," has an audience of more than 100,000 listeners. Monica, the interviewer, asked questions about my personal call to ministry and about the church.

I said the church has become Christ-centered and is experiencing a spiritual renovation.

The worship service in Cochabamba April 26 was a day of ceremonies. The church was host to members visiting from La Paz, Potosi and Santa Cruz.

Our first ceremony was when I ordained Ruben Gerardo Zevallos as the first local church elder in Bolivia. Ruben has a passion for Christ, and he and his wife, Gina, volunteer much of their time to serve in the church.

That afternoon I helped conduct a transdenominational wedding ceremony in which Carmen Serrudo, a WCG member, and Daniel Arana, a Baptist, were married.

April 27, my wife, Adriana, and I and our new elder conducted a conference with members from four cities in Bolivia.

It was evident God wants us to bring a harvest to Christ in this country. We stressed the need for leading members to be movers and shakers of a new beginning with evangelism and nurturing being the main thrust.

Members here are excited to be part of a thriving church, preaching the gospel and bringing new believers to a responsible relationship with Christ.

Michael Medina is subregional coordinator for the church in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, based out of the suboffice in Montevideo, Uruguay. Michael pastors the congregations in Bolivia, Chile and Uruguay.
