BRANSON, Missouri--Six WCG couples were among 3,000 ministers and spouses who heard these speakers at a pastors conference Feb. 26-28.
Author Gary Smalley said 10 minutes a day of positive recharging your relationship can bring a marriage from the brink of divorce to togetherness. Another 10 minutes a day can bring a couple from togetherness to happiness.
Chuck Swindoll spoke on three points essential to success in marriage, and success in ministry: know who you are; accept who you are; and be who you are.
In his second session Dr. Swindoll gave a message titled, "Commitment to Integrity," in which he outlined the importance of moral and spiritual integrity.
H.B. London, host of "Pastor to Pastor," a ministry of Focus on the Family, presented information on ministers and spouses. He said to let a pastor's wife find her own place, don't try to force her into your ministry.
In his second session, Dr. London described how even pastors come to a point where the brook has run dry, and then they must call upon God, who is an inexhaustible resource who will meet every need.
Author Rod Cooper spoke on the five stages of marriage: honeymoon, reality, reevaluation, reconnected and rediscovery.
