Phoenix teens raise $2,000 for suffering children

PHOENIX, Arizona--The theme for this year's 30-Hour Famine Feb. 28 and 29 was Know Hunger.

This is the fourth year the Phoenix teens participated in this life-changing event. We raised $2,000 to help suffering children around the world. We shared plenty of laughs and some tears as we shared our lives with each other for a day.

This year, Kristen Immell, one of our senior girls, gave an informative talk on homelessness in America.

When the Famine was over we devoured meatball subs and cookies, but we were much aware of those children who would not be breaking their fast that day--or the next. Dick McKeon.
