Tammy is the editor of Connections, a journal for pastors' wives and families of the Worldwide Church of God. She serves as Women's Ministry Support Coordinator, providing information and encouragement for those involved in women's ministry in the church.

Tammy worked at Intel Corporation in Phoenix for five years in various positions, including supervisor of Data Entry Services. She is a graduate of Ambassador University and received her bachelor's degree in 1978, with a major in Home Economics.

Before attending college, Tammy lived in Colorado with her parents. She first started attending the WCG there in 1971, at the age of 15. She married her husband, Joe, in 1980 and they have a son, Joseph Tkach III, and a daughter, Stephanie.

Helping women minister to other women is very important to Tammy. Her goal is to help Christian women learn to share their spiritual gifts to edify the Body of Christ. She edits and writes for Connections, the quarterly elders' wives publication. Her monthly articles are published on Nurturenet, an e-mail forum for ministers' wives, and then published in local newsletters. She speaks at women's conferences and retreats.
