Hey there! I'm the editor and co-founder of The Rock . I enjoy writing, singing, art, drama, and computers.
I was born in St. Paul, Alberta. When I was 6 years old I moved across the country to Ontario. I have two sisters, ages 7 and 4. My dad's a pastor and my mom's a homemaker.
Last year I accepted Jesus into my life and was baptized. This magazine will
hopefully be a big part of my ministries as a youth. I want it to encourage
Christian youth, and influence un-christian youth to accept Christ into their
lives.
Hello, I'm Karen Espiritu. I was born in the Philippines, but my family and I moved here to Canada when I was 8. On March 7, 1997, I gladly--and thankfully--took hold of Jesus Christ's loving, helping hand and got baptized, accepting Him as my One and Only Saviour; the cornerstone of my life. My sister Kristine was also baptized that night.
On my free time--or when I'm feeling very lazy (which is quite often!)--I like to draw, surf the Net, watch TV, play with my dog, take pictures of family, friends, and whatever else is in sight, sleep (and snore) on the living room couch and, of course, eat whatever is in the fridge!
I would like to travel all over the world when I'm older. I also want to be either a Math or English and Languages teacher when I grow up. Perhaps my most peculiar goal in life is to be able to go hot-air ballooning with my friends before we all go to university...A rather peculiar goal indeed, for someone deathly afraid of heights and flying!!
Hey, I'm Kristine! I'm a co-founder and contributing writer for this magazine, The Rock. I was born on July 9, 1979 in the Philippines, but in 1989, my family and I moved to Canada.
My hobbies include reading (classics and science fiction), dancing, surfing the Net, and watching TV (The X-Files is my favourite). I'd like to go into forensic medicine someday, particularly as a forensic pathologist (for anyone who doesn't know, that's someone who basically performs autopsies on the deceased to determine the cause of death).
On March 7, 1997, I accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and my personal Saviour when I got baptized. My sister, Karen (who's also part of this magazine), was baptized the same night. Jesus has given me the strength to do anything and everything through His name. He is the reason for this magazine, which will hopefully be a way for us, the magazine staff, to spread Jesus' wonderful message of salvation to others.
Who am I, you ask? I think I've almost figured it out. I'm Rick Hippolite, born in Hamilton, Ontario on December 16, 1976. I have always been a shy sort of person.
I'm interested in Progressive Music, House Music, and happy hardcore. I play all sorts of role playing games though we tend to stick to the D&.D format. I play violin in my spare time and tuba for the RHLI band (in just over a year we've played for Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth).
I enjoy learning languages. I speak French and Esperanto. Currently working
on Polish. I work for my brother's comic book company, Petroleum Comics.
Oh, did I forget to mention I'm allergic to peanuts?
